Are You There Yet?
by Christina Hempstead
In all actors, artists, and, well, human beings, we tend to fool ourselves into thinking that when we get "there"; in other words, when we create a masterpiece, get an agent, work with so and so, etc., that life will be great. And then we think: If life will be great, I will be great. In fact, I think there is often a misconception that we will be better than our current selves for having acquired our "there". I believe the judgement we make about our current, less-than-perfect lives actually keep us from the life we dream of living.

Judgement welcomes heaviness, doubt, waiting and fear. It is not usually a motivating energy, but rather, a limiting one. And even if you are mentally motivated enough to continue focused forward action in the directions of your dreams, there is still a separation of you and the life you imagine you can have.

So what are you to do if you are not "there" yet? First, continue to believe. If your heart is calling you toward this dream, there is indeed a reason you should be pursuing it. Believe in yourself, your ability to unlock your amazing potential (everyone has it), and create an amazing life.

Now, consider the possibility of embracing and loving your present. What are the qualities and feelings you associate with your "there?" Perhaps it is feeling abundant, feeling you belong, having peace, being courageous and free, connecting to and moving people. All of these qualities are available for you to bring into your being and experience now. An increased level of peace, joy, and connection are immediately accessible in our daily experiences with the world around us. As you move into creating this higher level of operation in your daily life, you will be amazed at the abundance and success you recognize in your life…and how others recognize it as well. Not only do you increase your own momentum toward your life's dreams, but you will encourage others who will join in support and help create bridges to your success. Most importantly, you will, in fact, be living your dreams today. That is to say, you will be inhabiting your life and imbuing it with the quality and feeling that is your desire so that when you do arrive "there," you can celebrate fully the accomplishment without having to shed the life that brought you to that moment. That is true success.
